Our aim is to influence change in attitudes towards how we use and dispose of plastic and hope that some of our stories can inspire you and your business into being more environmentally friendly with plastic waste. As well as focussing on businesses, we also want to help educate everybody on just how impactful plastic waste can be to animals, marine life and us. We also look to connect people and aim to help reduce plastic through beach and park clean ups. We want to be more visible in communities and help reduce plastic waste for a better future!

A word from the website creator:

Hello there, My name is Gordon and I’m the creator behind Planet Plastic. As a college student in my final year of a HND Media and Communication course, I wanted to get involved with a challenge on as part of my Graded Unit. My aim was to combine something that interested me whilst building my education on that issue. I wanted to improve my depth and breadth of knowledge on the topic whilst making a real difference and helping others. I came up with the name “Planet Plastic” together with my idea of designing a website to raise awareness and educate others on plastic pollution. My thoughts – and passion – is if we do not change our ways soon then our planet will feel as if it has turned into plastic – it will engulf us. What I enjoyed most about making this website was the sense of accomplishment when I learned something and was then able to put it on the website with the hope of helping others. If you’ve came on this page and feel like you’ve learned something and can make a change, then please, pass it on and don’t let us live in ‘Planet Plastic’. I would also like to thank everybody who contributed to helping with this article from website aid to proof-readers.

 Thanks, Gordon
